 BACKGROUND

Asia-Pacific Vibration Conference (A-PVC) consists of a series of biennial events on topics related to dynamics, control, sound and
vibration. The idea for the A-PVC vibration conference series was first mooted in Tokyo in July 1985 by the Conference Chairman, Prof.
T. Shimogo during the JSME Vibration Conference. Since then, the participation in the A-PVC series have been very successful and have
been hosted in Japan, China, Australia, Malaysia & South Korea. The forthcoming conference A-PVC ?99 is organised by the School of
Mechanical and Production Engineering, Nanyang Technological University and will be held during December 13-15, 1999 in Singapore.

TOPICS

The Organising Committee is requesting papers related to dynamics, control, sound and vibration from the industries, research
organizations and the academic community. The Conference will be broadly classified under the following categories:

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Prior to the submission of full papers, 3 copies of an abstract of 400-500 words should be submitted to the Secretariat. Please indicate to
which category the paper belongs (eg. A, B, C ?) if your proposal is in the course of categories listed.

Abstracts should clearly indicate corresponding author?s mailing address, telephone, facsimile, as well as e-mail address.

The official language of the conference is English.



EXHIBITION

An exhibition showing the latest technologies in acoustics and vibration equipment, instruments, materials and software will be held in
conjunction with A-PVC ?99. Inquiries should be directed to:
